Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Click 'Sign up' in the top right corner. Enter your .ac.uk email address and create a password. We'll send you a verification email. Click the link to verify your account.
Do I need to pay to use GrabStays?
No! GrabStays is completely free. There are no fees for listing your room, browsing listings, or messaging other students.
Which universities are supported?
We support all major UK universities. If your university uses a .ac.uk email domain, you can sign up. We currently have listings from 50+ UK universities.
Listing Your Room
How do I list my room?
Click 'List your room' in the navigation bar. Fill out the form with details about your room, including photos, price, dates, and location. Your listing will be live immediately.
How many photos can I upload?
You can upload up to 10 photos of your room or flat. We recommend including photos of the bedroom, common areas, kitchen, and bathroom.
Can I edit my listing after posting?
Yes! Go to your dashboard, click 'My Listings', and select 'Edit' on any listing. You can update photos, prices, dates, and descriptions at any time.
How long do listings stay active?
Listings automatically expire after 7 days. You can edit your listing to extend it, or create a new listing if needed.
Finding Accommodation
How do I search for rooms?
Use the search bar on the homepage to select your university. You can then browse all available listings and use filters to narrow down by price, dates, and listing type.
How do I contact a listing owner?
Click on any listing to view details, then click 'Send message'. You'll be able to message the owner directly through our secure messaging system.
Are all users verified?
Yes! Every user must sign up with a .ac.uk email address and verify their account. This ensures only real UK university students can use the platform.
Safety & Security
How do I know listings are legitimate?
All users are verified with .ac.uk emails. However, always view the property in person before making any payments. Never pay upfront without seeing the room first.
What should I do if I encounter a scam?
Report it immediately through our contact form or by clicking 'Report' on the listing. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We only share your email address with other users when you message them. We never share your personal information with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Account & Settings
How do I change my email address?
Currently, you cannot change your email address as it's used for verification. If you need to update it, please contact support.
How do I delete my account?
Contact our support team and we'll help you delete your account. Note that this will also delete all your listings and messages.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click 'Log in' and then 'Forgot password'. Enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset link.
